From the above names, we probably have the father's of both William & Lavina Lewis Holland listed, but which ones? LSC
A William Holland buys from William Hague in Morgan Co., TN. for the sum of $30 containing 50 acres on the waters of Little Emory's River. This was purchased on June 23, 1828. John & Mary Holland have twins in Morgan Co., Tn. in 1832. John & Mary's son, Lewis have 2 son's, first one they named, John H., no doubt for his father, & the second son was William C. for his grandfather. William Holland received a Rev. War Pension in Morgan Co., TN. & his wife received the pension in Barren Co., KY. He served in Maryland Militia as Private; 6 months in Capt. Samuel Drig's Co., Col. Peter Adams & Richardson's Reg'ts. 4 months in Col. Richardson's Reg't, was in a skirmish with the Tories and took about 30 prisoners. 2 months in Capt. Richard Andrew's Co., Col. Peter Adam's Reg't. He was allowed a pension on this application executed Oct. 23, 1833 while living in Morgan Co., TN. (pension claim W. 9065).
A William Holland bought 153 acres of land in E. Roane Co., TN. on Nov. 29, 1805 from John Smith. I am not sure if this is the same William or not. A William Holland married Fanny Stile on Nov. 14, 1806/07 in Wilson Co.,TN. Do not know if this connects or not.
Notes for Lavina Lewis:
She is buried in Holland Cem. in Metcalfe Co.,KY. From The Tompkinsville News Vol 1 compiled by Sandi Gorin on p.131 it mentions: The first record of business done at Mill Creek Baptist Church, which was held on the 2nd Sat. in Nov. 1840 was to receive LEVINA HOLLAND by letter. (Mill Creek Baptist Church #1, Monroe Co KY. Records of the split, membership shown thru 1890's. Known as Old Mulkey. 63 pages, $14.00. by Sandra K. Gorin)
From Metcalfe Co., Ky. Cemetery Records Vol. I lists the Holland-Oleanan Cemetery that was copied on Oct. 23, 1977. It is located .6 mile west on Hwy. 90 from the Hwy. 640 junction, turn right at Dewey Palmore's farm. Travel about 0.3 mile. The cemetery is on the left on a hill about 500 ft. off the road on Jack Flower's property. 36 degree 53'36" 85 degree 42'58". Three graves identified & 14 unidentifiable. The three identified were Lavina & her two grandsons: Lewis C. & Carroll C. Holland. (These two were box crypts.) Martha Powell Reneau & I uncovered her grave in 1998 that was completely covered over. We stood it up to take a picture of it, but laid it back down again. Cemetery has many fieldstone graves.
